Project Engineer
John Thomas Design is an environmental graphics and branding design firm based in Nashville, Tennessee that primarily works with college athletic departments and teams, as well as the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals.
John Thomas Design is looking for a team-first, client focused Project Engineer to join our team and help elevate our work. The ideal candidate will display experience in a similar field and would have experience leading and managing installations (branding, museum, etc). JTD is looking for a self motivated team player. Remote work is an option, but extra credit will be given to applicants in the Nashville area.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to work in an office setting and remote
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of large format printing and core materials (vinyl, acrylic, laminates, fabricated signs)
- Understanding of floor plans, shop drawings and other architectural drawings
- Comfortable handling stressful situations with clients present
- A good understanding of the college and professional sports landscape
- Familiar with SketchUp software
Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Project Manager
- Ability to travel: up to 35% of this job would be travel
- Maintain a workflow in accordance will project timelines, while working on multiple tasks
- Oversee all aspects of installation to include scheduling, travel logistics for self and installers, on-site client facing contact, deliveries, completion photos and post-install documentation
- Production Document review and feedback to include, hardware management, mounting methods, and material selections based on budget
- Budget management (install, travel, hardware, lifts)
- Site survey coordination
- Review eproofs/shop drawings
- Shipping: logistics and client communication
Additional Notes
- Hours: 40 hours a week, nothing more
- Vacation days per year: 20 (along with all major holidays, closed December 23rd through January 1)
- Health Insurance: JTD to cover 80%
- Location: Nashville preferred, remote is also an option
- Compensation: Negotiable
